HUNTING A GEORGIA PLANTATION - QUAIL
Whether you choose to fly by a private chartered flight or a commercial flight, we'll greet you to gather your baggage and drive you to the plantation.
S&P will take care of all your transportation needs. We do so much more than just opening the door for you.
You gather your family, Friends, and/or Business Associates to round out your vacation group - we'll plan accordingly as we move into the planning stage of the process.
The carriage house comfortably sleeps between 8 - 16 guests. All of the accommodations are ensuites with either a king or queen bed with your own bathroom.

The food is a big part of any travel experience. We like to dive into the local ingredients and buy organic using the best ingredients possible. As a Chef, the goal is to marry particular ingredients together and get the heck out of the way. We let those flavors shine by keeping it simple!
Each morning, we'll have a delightful breakfast ready for you as you're waking-up for your morning hunt. For lunch, you'll come back to the house for a spread of offerings as you all discuss your morning hunt. After a long day of hunting, your appetite will be hearty and a showcase of quail and other local offerings will be presented. Not only will you enjoy the flavor of the local land, you'll go home with some great ideas of how to cook your own supply of game that you're taking home with you.
The evenings are always full of Food, Family/Friends, Stories, and Laughter. And, the best part, you do not need to do anything other than just enjoy each others company.
Menus will be written prior to your trip in order to consider any requests or restrictions of any guests.
We certainly can accommodate any dietary restrictions that anyone in your party requires - it's not a problem!

You and your group will have the privilege of hunting the prime habitat for wild quail. Experience lightning speed covey rise quail hunting while testing and honing your shooting skills… and there are no additional charges for extra birds. Your private group hunt party is escorted by your hunt master, assistant hunt master and wagon driver while the hunters in your group have the choice to ride horseback or on the wagon. Hunters alternate shooting with two shooters down at each covey.
As your party arrives at the plantation, and after you get settled in your accommodations, a welcome reception will be offered along with a kick-off toast.
Your personal guide will stop by to introduce themselves to you and make sure everyone is equipped for the weekend hunt.
To warm-up the trigger finger, you'll head to the trap shooting range at sunset.
Once the early sun goes down, a waiting spread of dinner offerings will be served in the dining room by your personal chef.
Those who are exhausted from the days travel and want to get some sleep before the next days hunt will turn-in early. Or, for those want the night to continue, there's more activity in the library.
You'll wake up to the scents of breakfast and the morning Georgia landscape. A hearty breakfast will be served as the entire group is excited for the days hunt.
Your Professional Orvis Guides (1 for every two guests) will arrive at the house on horseback and mule drawn wagon filled with anxious bird dogs who are also ready for the days hunt. You'll spend three hours on your morning hunt.
As you're hunting, your personal chef is preparing your lunch. We like to offer many options that encourage your curiosity and certainly showcase quail and other local ingredients. It's always fun that first meal after the first hunt - the excitement of the hunt.
After lunch, your Guides, dogs and mules will be refreshed and ready for your afternoon three hour hunt.
Once returning, you'll welcome some down time. Whether that is a quiet nap in the perfect spot or maybe some reading on the southern porch. Your personal host will be at your disposal and take care of all your needs.
Your chef will busy preparing for your southern dinner with hand selected wines, craft and domestic beers. the offerings will be plentiful along with fresh baked southern desserts.
The evening activity usually includes great stories, laughter and banter as the party continues. We'll offer either a hand selected Flight of Wine Tasting or a several quality brands of a Bourbon Tasting along with hand rolled Cigars. It's always fun tasting them side-by-side and sharing some of that knowledge.
Our guests always sleeps well after that first full day.
After the deep sleep, that aromas of fresh brewed coffee will awake you. As everyone trickles out of their en suites, breakfast will be awaiting you as the chef is preparing the final touches.
Your personal guide who you've gained a rapport with arrives after your breakfast to greet you for your morning three hour hunt.
We like to mix things up and serve lunch differently when you get back from your morning hunt. You'll welcome the different options along with the southern tea and lemonade.
The creation of hunting stories will continue over the 6,000 acres during the afternoon hunt. 20 birds/per person.
Once you return from your hunt, your personal guides will be busy dressing all of your birds and freezing them in vacuum sealed packs. We will have them shipped to your door step with dry ice to keep them frozen during transit.
During some downtime before dinner, those may want to have a clay shooting contest at the range with the host keeping you hydrated. Or, the best nap of your life in a hammock surrounded with the wind blown southern pines. There is no shortage of things to do during these times. We also like to share the Bird Dog Program for those who are interested seeing it.
The last dinner, we like to keep things interesting and prepare your quail in 3-4 different preparations to give you ideas of how to prepare your own when getting home. Of course we'll give you access to those same recipes after you get home.
In the evening, whether there's a great game on to surround the activity, the tradition of playing a game of Credit Card Russian Roulette to take care the first two days of additional expenses is on the line. It's always a crowd favorite with Jaunt's credit card is the one picked. We'll toast to the evening and the trip with family and friends.
As you wake-up to the scents of your last breakfast, you won't be rush to get up. Breakfast will be served on your waking schedule. The hearty breakfast will tide you over for your day of travel back home.
Your Personal Guides will be around to thank you for your visit as you gather your personal luggage items. We'll take care of them from there and drive you back to the airport, whether that is a private charter or commercial flight. If it's a private charter, the chef will provide lunch for you during your flight.
We'll take care of your birds and get them to your front step. In doing so, we like to make things easy and fun for you. During one meal, your personal chef will prepare quail several different ways for you to try. You will have the opportunity to choose you favorite(s) and we'll go ahead and and marinate and then freeze your birds (with instructions) so you can enjoy the same preparation when you get home through the year. Or, they also are great gifts too.
Experiences come in many forms. Most can be orchestrated and some spontaneously
happen when surrounded by the right people.

These dates below are chosen around best time of the year to hunt this beautiful land, both weather and the hunting. In January & February, in South Georgia, the mornings are crisp averaging 36 degrees, the afternoons still bounce up to the 60's. Perfect bird hunting weather.
